Digital Dental Impressions: No more messy impressions

The latest digital impression system, the 3M "Lava COS" has been available for over 2 years. You are probably wonding what that device is. In the past, when patients had any new crowns (caps) or bridges made, a dentist had to take an impression with unpleasant and messy stuff in your mouth. A digital impression scanner eliminates that messy impression material. A series of digital video images allows the capture of the shape of the teeth and relays that information to the lab. The result is a more accurate impression and a precise fitting restoration.
